Not Very Smart in HEINZ Sight

In response to a brief titled ‘making a public nuisance’ this project surrounds the controversy of Heinz & their advertisements that were published at the end of 2024 in which they were accused of encouraging negative stereotypes against black men while marketing their iconic baked beans & ketchup products. 

In response to the media coverage of these taboo advertisements, I produced this range of re-imagined Heinz products in which the imagery, the layout, the colour palette & the logo stays the same, but I have edited the product names into slogans, acknowledging the brand should’ve known better while also editing the ingredients to be facts regarding the scandal. I then placed these cans on the shelves of my local shops & left them there for others to find & enjoy (for free) as the barcode was a fake.
